9/11 COMMISION

Did the 9/11 commision do a thorough job of investigating all aspects of 9/11 .. this article says no

http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110009698

"With hearts fortified with these animating reflections, we most solemnly, before God and the world, declare, that, exerting the utmost energy of those powers, which our beneficent Creator hath graciously bestowed upon us, the arms we have compelled by our enemies to assume, we will, in defiance of every hazard, with unabating firmness and perseverance employ for the preservation of our liberties; being with one mind resolved to die freemen rather than to live as slaves."

-- John Dickinson and Thomas Jefferson (Declaration of the Cause and Necessity of Taking up Arms, 6 July 1775)

"All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity.

And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men.

And if a sparrow cannot fall to the Ground without his Notice, is it probable that an Empire can rise without his Aid?""

-- Benjamin Franklin (To Colleagues at the Constitutional

Convention)

"We established however some, although not all its [self-government] important principles . The constitutions of most of our States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved,) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed."

-- Thomas Jefferson (letter to John Cartwright, 1824)

"It is the madness of folly, to expect mercy from those who have refused to do justice; and even mercy, where conquest is the object, is only a trick of war; the cunning of the fox is as murderous as the violence of the wolf."

-- Thomas Paine (The American Crisis, No. 1, 19 December 1776)

How could a readiness for war in time of peace be safely prohibited, unless we could could prohibit, in like manner, the preparations and establishments of every hostile nation?"

-- James Madison (Federalist No. 41, 1788)

TODAY'S QUOTE

The Patriot Post
Founders' Quote Daily

"If men through fear, fraud or mistake, should in terms renounce
and give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of
reason and the great end of society, would absolutely vacate
such renunciation; the right to freedom being the gift of God
Almighty, it is not in the power of Man to alienate this gift,
and voluntarily become a slave."

-- John Adams (Rights of the Colonists, 1772)

Ronald Reagan

The anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birthday was a few days ago here are a bunch of quotes from him .

“The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program.”

“The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

“I consider all proposals for government action with an open mind before voting ‘no’.”

“The taxpayer: That’s someone who works for the federal government but doesn’t have to take the civil service examination.”

“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”

“Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.” —Ronald Reagan

One minute each night

In WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what

they were doing every night at a
prescribed hour for one minute to

collectively pray for the safety of
England , Its people and peace.
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in  America

If you would like to participate: Each evening at 9:00 PM
Eastern Time

(8:00 PM Central) (6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are
doing and spend
one minute praying for the safety of the United States ,
our troops, our citizens, and for a Godly nation.

If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass
this along.

Someone said if Christians really understood the full extent
of the power

we have available through prayer, we might be speechless.
Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.  Together, we "CAN" make a difference!

Thank You, and God Bless America

Thomas Jefferson:
" And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed
their only firm basis.A conviction in the minds of the people that these
liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with
His wrath. Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is
just .That His justice cannot sleep
forever."

" If men will not be governed by God, They will be ruled by tyrants." William Penn

We need to make a decision

The election cycle of 2008 is in the very beginnings so as Americans I think we need to have a debate about the role that our government should hold in our country .
Is it going to be what our founders envisioned or are we going to head further down the road to the corrupt system of socialism.
I think our founding fathers and mothers would be appalled at what they see in America today.

" The care of human life and happiness and not their destruction is the first and only legitimate  object of good government ." Thomas Jefferson

" The object and practice of liberty lies in the limitations of government ." General Douglas MacArthur

" The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time .The hand of force may destroy but cannot disjoin them."  Thomas Jefferson

Our founders believed  that government was for the protection of its citizens from enemies at home and abroad and that as individuals we were free to live our live without interference as long as we didn't harm our neighbors. We have gone a long way down the road of big government that intrudes on every aspect of our lives .
So I would like to hear your ideas on what our government should look like and what we could do to get our country back to what our founders had in mind . If you think we are living like our founders envisioned I welcome your  thoughts also .

" We demand entire freedom of action and then expect the government in some miraculous ways to save us from the consequences of our own acts ,,self government means self reliance." Calvin Coolidge

"Were the talents and virtues which Heaven has bestowed on men given merely to make them more obedient drudges to be sacrificed to the follies and ambitions of a few." Thomas Jefferson

" Already  the hour is late government has laid its hand on health ,housing ,farming ,industry, commerce, education and to an ever increasing degree interferes with the peoples right to know .We approach the point of no return where government becomes so huge and entrenched that we fear the consequences of upheaval and just go along with it ." Ronald Reagan
